You are what you eat…If you were to suddenly transform into one type of food based on what you have eaten most in your life, what would you be? What do you enjoy about that particular food?

Focus: Jesus is the bread of life and those who eat Him will live through Him and by Him.

I. Read John 6:32-35, 48-51, 56-57, 63. Based on these verses:
A. What titles did the Lord Jesus use to describe Himself in these verses? There are at least 4 titles that are very similar to each other.
B. Consider the example of physical food. What must occur to prepare raw materials so that we can eat them? What did Jesus do to prepare Himself so that we could “eat Him”? (Hint: v. 33, 51)
C. What processes occur as we actually eat physical food and what are the results we experience when we eat? Based upon this, what do you think Jesus meant when He told us to eat Him?
D. Find 2 verbs in these verses that show us the significance of eating Jesus (Hint: v. 35)
E. Find 2 verbs that describe the result of our eating Jesus (Hint: vv. 56-57).
F. Memorize John 6:57As the living Father has sent Me and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also shall live because of Me.

How does verse 63 show us the real way Jesus intended that we eat Him? He did not want us to physically eat His flesh but to eat His ________.

What is a practical way for us to “eat Jesus” today? See Matthew 4:4, Jeremiah 15:16, and 1 Peter 2:2-3.

How are you doing with respect to eating Jesus in this way day by day? Do you have any tips for others or questions on how you can spiritually eat more regularly?
